A Little bit about me...

A Little bit about me...

A personal Journey

Joy's passion for dispute resolution began long before she entered law school. Raised in a vibrant household of 10 children in Kamonkoli, a small town in Eastern Uganda, Joy learned the art of mediation early by watching her mother and grandmother harmoniously resolve community and family disputes.

That foundation later became professional calling. Joy deepened her expertise by pursuing advanced study in alternative dispute resolution in the United States and built a practice focused on helping people and organizations move from conflict toward resolution.

Those early experiences taught her that conflict is a natural part of life and for relationships to survive, every conflict deserves a nuetral listener to understand the interests, perspectives, and human dynamics behind the matter.

Why Dispute Resolution

Throughout her legal career as litigation and in-house lawyer, Joy has witnessed firsthand how unresolved misunderstandings, damaged relationships, and poor communication frequently lie beneath legal disputes. While litigation often determines who is legally right, mediation allows people to determine what is practically best just by listening and working together for a solution .

Beyond the Office

Outside her professional work, Joy enjoys reading, writing, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Jared, and their blended family in Texas. She is also an active member of Heartland Church, where she serves on the ushering team.
